How to Choose the Best Astrologer in Dehradun: 8 Honest Checks

There is no single “best astrologer in Dehradun” for everyone, and nobody can prove that title, including us. A more useful question is whether an astrologer is honest and right for you. Before you book, check eight things: (1) fees published before you pay, (2) an address you can actually visit, (3) they ask for your exact birth details, (4) they tell you who will perform any puja, (5) no guarantees and no fear-based selling, (6) no pressure to buy gemstones or extra remedies, (7) they explain in your language and admit limits, and (8) reviews you can read yourself on Google, with the fee and date confirmed in writing or on WhatsApp before you book.

The 8 checks in detail

1. Fees are published before you pay

Good sign: You should know the price of a consultation or puja before you sit down, not after the reading has started. Ask: “What is the fee, and is it per person or per session?”

Red flag: A price that is only revealed once you are worried, or that keeps growing during the session.

2. There is an address you can visit

Good sign: A real place you can find on Google Maps, with the same name, phone and address everywhere (website, Google, Justdial). You can walk in by appointment and see who you are dealing with.

Red flag: Only a mobile number, no fixed address, or a different name and address on every listing.

3. They ask for your exact birth details

Good sign: A kundli needs your date, exact time and place of birth. A careful astrologer will ask for all three, and will tell you which parts of a reading become less reliable if the time is only approximate.

Red flag: Firm predictions from your name or zodiac sign alone, without any birth time.

4. They tell you who actually performs the puja

Good sign: If a puja is suggested, you are told the name of the pandit who will perform it and where it will happen. If a temple is mentioned, they say plainly whether they are part of that temple or are only arranging the puja there.

Red flag: A vague “our pandits will do it”, or a business that lets you believe it is a famous temple when it is not.

5. No guarantees, no fear

Good sign: Astrology is described as guidance and tradition. You hear about tendencies and timing, not certainties, and nobody tells you something terrible will happen unless you pay today.

Red flag: Promises of a guaranteed result (no honest astrologer can give one), a fixed deadline for a marriage or job, or frightening talk about curses and “black magic” to make you book.

6. No pressure to buy gemstones or extra remedies

Good sign: Any suggestion, such as a mantra, a daan or a puja, is offered as an option with its fee, and you are given time to think. Saying no should not change how you are treated.

Red flag: A gemstone, yantra or costly puja presented as compulsory, or sold at the end of every reading.

7. They explain in your language, and know their limits

Good sign: You understand what you are told, in Hindi, English or whichever language you are comfortable in, and you can ask follow-up questions. For health, legal or money problems they tell you to also see a doctor, lawyer or financial adviser.

Red flag: Jargon you are not allowed to question, or astrology offered instead of medical or legal help.

8. Reviews you can read yourself, and everything confirmed in writing

Good sign: Read their Google reviews yourself: the text, the dates and any replies, not just a star number or screenshots on their own website. Before you pay, get the fee, the date and what to bring confirmed on WhatsApp or in writing.

Red flag: No public reviews, only testimonials the astrologer chose to show you, or nothing in writing until after you pay.

Questions you can send on WhatsApp before you book

Copy these and send them to any astrologer you are considering. Clear, unhurried answers are a good sign.

  1. What is your fee for this consultation or puja, and is anything extra?
  2. Where exactly do you sit? Can I visit before I book?
  3. Which birth details do you need from me, and how exact must the time be?
  4. If you suggest a puja, who will perform it, and where?
  5. Is any remedy compulsory? What happens if I decide not to do it?
  6. Can I read your reviews on Google?
  7. Can you confirm the date, the fee and what I need to bring in writing?

What we will not tell you

We will not tell you we are the best astrologer in Dehradun: no one can honestly prove that. We will not promise that a puja will bring a marriage, a job, a child, exam results or recovery from illness, and we will not tell you that something bad will happen unless you pay. If another astrologer suits you better, that is fine.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the best astrologer in Dehradun?

There is no single best astrologer for everyone, and no ranking can prove one. Choose someone who publishes fees, has an address you can visit, asks for exact birth details, tells you who performs any puja, makes no guarantees, does not pressure you, explains in your language and has reviews you can read yourself on Google.

How much does an astrologer charge in Dehradun?

Fees differ from one astrologer to another, so always ask for the fee before you book. We can only speak for our own published fees: Kundli Milan ₹2,100 and a Complete Kundli Consultation ₹5,100. Our pujas range from ₹5,100 to ₹31,000, with ₹5,000 extra per puja if you choose the Kalimath temple.

Can a puja or remedy guarantee results?

No. A puja is an act of faith and a remedy is a traditional practice. Nobody can honestly guarantee a result, and anyone who does is a red flag. For health, legal or money matters, please also consult a qualified professional.

Is an online or in-person consultation better?

A reading depends on accurate birth details, not on where you sit. In person, you can ask follow-up questions on the spot and see who you are dealing with. At Kalimath Astrology, consultations are in person at Panditwari; booking and questions can be done on WhatsApp, and online puja is available if you want it.

What details should I bring to an astrologer?

Your date of birth, the exact time of birth (from a birth certificate or family record if possible) and the place of birth. For Kundli Milan, bring the same details for both people. Write down the questions you want answered.

How do I spot a fake or pushy astrologer?

Watch for prices that appear only after you are worried, guaranteed results, frightening talk of curses, compulsory gemstones or pujas, no fixed address, predictions without your birth time, and no reviews you can check yourself.

Do I need a consultation before booking a puja?

No. With us a consultation is not required before booking a puja. If you would like to understand your chart first, you can book one, but that is your choice.

Where can I read reviews of Kalimath Astrology?

On our Google Business Profile, where you can read every review and leave your own after a consultation or puja. As of November 2026 the rating is 5.0 from 10 reviews.
