What is Santan Prapti Puja?
In Hindu tradition, couples who long for a child have prayed for centuries. A santan prapti puja is one such prayer, often offered to Bhagwan Krishna in his Santan Gopal form, with the sankalp taken by the couple.
We treat this puja as a matter of faith and ritual only. It does not replace a doctor, and we never suggest stopping or delaying medical care.
This puja is about faith and ritual only. It is not a substitute for medical or fertility advice, and it promises no outcome.
When couples usually choose this puja
- When a couple wishes to pray for a child, alongside any medical care they are receiving.
- On a day that is meaningful to the family, such as Janmashtami.
- When the elders of the family wish to offer a prayer for the couple.
How the puja is traditionally done
- Sankalp: the pandit takes the name of the person the puja is for, the gotra if the family knows it, and the purpose of the puja.
- Ganesh puja and kalash sthapana: as per tradition, every puja begins with Lord Ganesh.
- Main puja and mantra jaap for the deity or graha the puja is offered to.
- Havan, aarti and daan, as the vidhi requires.
The pandit explains the exact vidhi, the mantra jaap and anything you need to arrange when you book, before you pay.
