What is Education (Shiksha) Puja?

In Hindu homes, learning has always begun with prayer: Maa Saraswati is worshipped as the goddess of knowledge and Lord Ganesh as the remover of obstacles. An education puja brings the student and the family together for that prayer.

It is about faith and focus. It cannot give marks, admissions or results, and it is no replacement for teachers, study or career counselling.

This puja is a prayer. It is not a substitute for study, teachers or academic guidance, and it promises no marks or admission.

When families usually choose this puja

How the puja is traditionally done

  1. Sankalp: the pandit takes the name of the person the puja is for, the gotra if the family knows it, and the purpose of the puja.
  2. Ganesh puja and kalash sthapana: as per tradition, every puja begins with Lord Ganesh.
  3. Main puja and mantra jaap for the deity or graha the puja is offered to.
  4. Havan, aarti and daan, as the vidhi requires.

The pandit explains the exact vidhi, the mantra jaap and anything you need to arrange when you book, before you pay.
